Victorian House

IMG_1341
The previous front yard marked with just fence post.
IMG_1426
A grand entrance, arched arbor and gate made from scratch and assembled using tenon/mortese joinery and oak dowel pins.
IMG_1344
Notice the original stair railing are just 2"x4" wood. The porch slats are plain as can be.  Is this Victorian or a barn house?  See the cat?  He got booted once we took ownership...just kidding.
IMG_1496
Now this is more Victorian!  Lots of character on the slats and stairs, the posts were pieced together from scratch and the two tone steps give a nice contrast.
IMG_1370
Previous door and hallway, boring!
IMG_1491
New door made out of solid mahogany and cut glass gives more light to the hallway. Wainscoting and door trims were installed to compliment the _” oak hardwood floors.
IMG_1358
Previous dining room not so formal.
IMG_1495
Trimming out all the doorways, window along with crown molding and wainscoting makes this dining room more formal and enjoyable for entertaining guests during dinner time.
IMG_1361
The previous look of the kitchen was so 70ish.
IMG_1447
Updating the kitchen with new colors, floor tiles, countertop, pantry and paneled doors makes this kitchen comfortable cooking your meals.
IMG_1363
The previous look of the stairway was covered with carpeting for good reasons…
IMG_1452
Color matching the hardwood floors and two toning the steps gave this tired looking old stair new life and its own personality.
IMG_1364
Previous stair railing made with 2”x4” wood and covered with sheetrock didn’t provide much stability and safety.
IMG_1492
Using turned spindles and posts, and railing opened up the hallway giving it more character and glamour to the second floor hallway.
IMG_1357
Couldn’t do much thinking in this room, not too appealing.
IMG_1435
Trimmed windows, subtle colors, crown molding and oak hardwood floors makes this an elegant and comfortable room to work or read a book in.
IMG_1497
A custom made planter box and new curved pathway gave this short journey to the front doorway a little more pleasant.
IMG_1459
Trimmings built from scratch gave the front of the house life and character with different curves and multi-color scheme, the pre-existing draped woodwork was given a second color tone with a touch of gold to highlight the existing beauty
IMG_1454
The interior trimming on the door were assembled piece by piece (not from a kit)

windows were trimmed the same way.
